An American sculptor’s masks restored French soldiers disfigured in World War I – The Washington Post
Without even a scalpel Anna Coleman Ladd was a remarkable sculptor who made lifelike facial masks for many horribly disfigured World War I veterans, whose lives she transformed with her artistry. Her story is described here, including fascinating video from about 1920.

Dr. John Wahl and Nurse Jenn Are a Sight For Sore Eyes
Dr. Mike’s brother ophthalmologist Dr. John Wahl recently visited Antigua with his girlfriend Christiana Care nurse Jenn Pangalilingan on a volunteer medical mission. While there, Dr. John provided free eye consultations and education, as did Jenn who provided free eyeglasses for many Antiguans, who were very grateful for the excellent medical care.
